For me, Platt Bridge is a constant reminder of how strong community spirit is in our area. When flooding hit, neighbours helped neighbours and local people stepped up to support one another. The McDonalds off Liverpool Road road provided shelter and hot drinks. That spirit runs right through the community.
This is something worth protecting and we have to build on it too. I want to see more investment in local facilities including the roof of Platt Bridge Community Centre, community groups, and opportunities that bring people together so we can make Platt Bridge an even better place to live.
Better Transport For Working People
Good transport connects people to jobs, education and opportunity. That’s why I brought buses back under public control through the Bee Network and introduced lower fares for passengers across Greater Manchester.
For many people, reliable and affordable public transport makes a real difference to everyday life. I want communities like Platt Bridge to benefit from better connections and more opportunities, making it easier for people to get to work, training and the services they rely on.
